Either one could be a candidate. I had to replace one of them once and the other twice, don't recollect which one twice, as well as an alternator. The tensioners were on warranty, paid for the alternator out of my own pocket, it was pricey. The cold weather seems to be unfriendly to them. Not sure if it's the bearing type or a tolerance issue v

I just did a build on my truck and replaced both as well. They were both ready to chit the bed anytime. They are cheap so just do both of them right away and be done.

You can actually save a good bit of money on the 6.0's by just changing the bearings in the pulleys. When you pop out the bearing, the number is stamped into the outer race. A local bearing shop has had every one I've needed in stock. Usually $2 to $4.

When the fan comes off, not a bad idea to change all pulley bearings.

Yup I had to do mine as well, outer, but the inner was gone as well so now i have to go back in and do that, great! Check your part #'s with your VIN too, couple choices out there.

Mine was; Single Alternator, outside serp belt tensioner is BT122.

No good!

Mine is squeekin like crazy too. Heard from a couple people that its the tensioner pulleys. What's it cost for both pulleys? And how much of a pain in the arse is it to change them out?

I decided to buy the tensioner and the idler pulley and a new belt seeing as their was a TSB on the idler pulley and im sure glad I did as the bearing in the pulley was completly shot and the tensioner was coming apart like the pics above. The tensioner was $85 I have dual alternators so I dont know the price difference for a single and the pulley was $33. the tensioner is a breeze to change out from below but I got small hands it only took me a half hour to change out both and put on the new belt if you got big hands I can see this being a very different story as I had a hard time getting my arm down to the pulley and routing the belt
