So... I have a customer looking for an s300 turbo. Leaning towards s363sxe Seems there is a lot of mixed info online.

Stock injectors, does not plan on upgrading much larger. Maybe 160/30 later on.

Looking for quick spool up and low egts while towing without have to spin rpms like crazy. 3.73 gears with 33" tires. Hoping to tow in OD at 1800-2000rpms.

So... 73 or 68 turbine wheel?

.91ar housing?

I keep hearing that a 362 is too small but powerstrokejunkie went from a hotrod setup to 175/stock and an s362 and said it was a towin sonofagun.

With real small injectors wouldnt the tighter, smaller turnine work better? I eouldnt think you'd run into bp isdues on a low fueled setup.

I ran a 366/74/1.00 for a year with stock obs injectors. With 3.55 gears, it drove like a stock truck.

If he plans to stay stock inj and wants low rpm towing torque i would go with a 362sxe with the 68 turbine and .91 housing.
If he is in fact going bigger 160/30 id go 363 with the 73 turbine and .91 housing.
With that 362 and a good tune on stock inj he can prob just throw his pyrometer out the window , wont need it.
He will have a very strong 1500-2500 rpm window and still peak at 30 psi boost on stock injectors on a hot tune.

I don't personally have any experience with stock sticks but I would think a 363 would work really well with a .84 on stock sticks and a .91 with 160/30's

What about a 363 with 68 turbine? Something right in the middle

Are you still running that 1.0ar housing on the journal bearing turbo? BAD IDEA. We found that turbo to spool too slow and quit offereing as an option... that is why we started making BB turbos

No I changed over to the .84 housing. I'm not trying to bash your turbo. It runs great. I get 36 psi boost. Pulls hard. It's just not in the rpm range I like to drive in. In an automatic truck it would do great. Wish I would of waited for the Kc38r. Oh well, chalk that one up to learning experience.

The KC38r is AWESOME! It will be even better next year. Gonna be a game changer.

What rpm range do you want?

That would be good to im sure.
Might have to be custom built thou as i recall as soon as you go bigger then a 62 in the sxe series the turbine gets bumped up to the 73 mm.
The 62 they have an option for a 68 or 73 turbine.

I can build whatever we need... but I am pretty sure you can order the s363 with a 68turbine.

Anybody have any experience with the 363 with 73 turbine?

Barder sells both the 363 & 364.5 with a 68 turbine as well as the 74.

Good to know.
Borg must of came out with more options now ,when i looked into these back whe first released they did not have that choice.
Options are endless now.

Ive also noticed there is a company producing T4 duel volute wastegated housings in .84 for s300 in a 68 or 73 turbine 😨
