I just coated my frame with rustoleum rusty metal primer, the frame was clean not much rust but the rusty metal primer is thicker and holds better IMO. Rolled/brushed on 2 coats then rolled/brushed on 2 coats of rustoleum flat black and it looks great. We've done the same on ever truck we've had and it holds up great even in Michigan winters.
Any undercoat I've used sucks weather it's a do it yourself undercoat or places like ziebart or the like it just peals right off, por15 is wasted money IMO also.
I've always had good luck with rustoleum sem and 3m if you want to spray paint use 3m or sem self etching primer.
Here's a pic of my truck freshly painted its surprisingly hard to scratch off.

If you're not powder coating the suspension parts, use marine paint (stuff for boats). I contacted Deaver several years ago to ask about painting my springs and that's what they told me they use.

I never thought about that. I worked on yachts in Michigan several years ago and had to paint a few but never thought about using that stuff.

Anyone use the Eastwood products, like Chassis Saver black etc?

I have used them, but the truck never got past rolling chassis so no longevity experience. Seemed like a great product when first in use, but would like to know how it would hold up to a solid salt/sand winter daily driving.

Yup, I know a few truckers who use marine paint on their show trucks. Works and looks awesome. You can apply it real thick too, so you can smooth out imperfections on frame rails and such.
