Have em' ceramic coated instead. Strokers Unlimited can hook you up. On the gassers we used to play with, the wrap would hold moisture eventually rust out the headers. They weren't stainless though. I'd much rather have em' ceramic coated though. JMO.

I wrapped my up-pipes (from turbo to the manifolds) on a stock turbo with stock injectors and never noticed any difference in spool up, turbo response, etc. I don't think it is worth it.

i have everything ceramic coated...from the manifolds to the intake elbow.

When I made a new hot pipe for my twins, I did a test.

I wanted to see just how much the ceramic coating was helping retain the heat inside the piping between the turbos....

Before I had the new pipe coated, I installed it, and ran it with no wrap or ceramic coating...the drop in temperature between the manifolds on the engine and right before the inlet of the primary's exhaust housing was anywhere from 250-400*F+.

After getting the pipe ceramic coated, and only a little less then half wrapped, (I ran out of wrap) the temperature drop from the manifolds to the primary's exhaust housing was 150-250*F max.

I'm a believer in ceramic coatings...

Another benefit as can be seen in the pictures above is the "Protection" of wires, fuel lines, etc from the exhaust heat.

This was the major reason I did mine. I also had them ceramic coated and wrapped them. I also wrapped the down pipe and exhaust beside the trans to help keep heat off of it. Still gotta get a shield for the turbine housing.

Ceramic coating is where its at, if i wasnt in a rush i would have had my up pipes coated as well as my exhaust housing. I would at least wrap them if you dont want to spend the time/money getting them coated. keeps under hood temps a bit lower and protects wires/hoses from getting the full heat load.

Trust me...you wanna spend the extra money now, cuz to have to take everything apart again, and wait for them to come back, and then have to put it all back together sux.

Once it done, its done, and done right.

If a couple hundred bucks isn't in the buget right now...your project might take a little longer then you thought.

Seems everytime I pop the hood it costs me over $100.00

If you can coat inside and out. My hot pipe can be touched after a pass at the track
