What are you guys thoughts on the steel to steel guides vs the BIG DOGG steel to bronze. Would these heads be worth it? Do other head manufacturers put in bronze liners?

I think the consensus is bronze guides are no good for our application? Maybe someone ele will chime in with a more informative post.

Aren't our stock ones steel to steel? And that's a big wear point where it should be bronze to increase its life and decrease wear.

If top end lubrication is a problem stay away from bronze. I know its a little different but i use it in the dies i build and with out lube or coolant it will gawld very quick and loose its smooth texture. There are some coatings for it but idk if they would work in a cylinder.

Been watching the powerstoke help moron on YouTube OP? He loves big dogg products.

I've watched just about all of his vids since 2010. He's not a god. Has valuable points and I appreciate the fact that he takes the time to post videos. Some of his theories are a little loopy, so I question some of his things through other sources like here. I wasn't sure about the bronze he was talking about or off other head remanufacture specialists did this as well and if it was more of a benefit or not.

bronze guide liners on the 6.4 do not work, a full thickness bronze guide is what we use on all of our heads and work very well.
