I will be taking my valve covers off soon to do rockers and was thinking I would do nozzles while I'm in there, but only if the following statement would work... If I was to get bigger nozzles could I still run them with a low PW tune and still make the same power as stock with a 2.0-2.1 pw tune? I say bigger nozzles with a low pw tune so I can keep the rail from draining and keep RP still around 23-25k. Has this been done with good results and little to no loss of power? I do plan on doing dual fuelers in the future but figure. Would kill two birds with one stone. If this is possible would it work with 30%s

many will say no. I ran a 2.1pw innovative file with 30s and a a-1000 low pressure and fuel bowl delete. I was maintaining 25k for quite a while. then the pump dropped to only maintaining 21k for a long time and failed with 60k miles on it. whether it just failed from age or the strain I'm
not sure. but I did in fact maintain on 30% nozzles and stock HPFP for a while.

You could run 15% and maintain, not sure the power gain though.

I can get you setup with nozzles if you'd like.

i havent seen many dynos on 15%.. but simply on stock fuel and a larger charger setup high 600s. ive seen one truck with 30s and a 71/59 dyno 705, but no real track times to back that.. but if you want a solid 700-750, you will need dual fuelers.

dual fuelers is in the pans, i just was wondering if i can run bigger nozzles for now on a low pw tune until i get a dual fueler set up, i figured i take the valve cover off once and get it done, plan on getting a 76/59 set up

yes until you get dual fuelers you can run a lower pw tune and maintain with 30s. it may not make much more power over stock fuel, but it can work yes.

I ran my drag truck all last season with elite 110s and a stock single injection pump. Made 730 on fuel and I sprayed it to 1006. I custom tuned it with a low pw and it worked good. It was always really clean and responsive.

im not sure.. but my stock pump did fail. im throwing a brand new one in and trying again.. so we'll see.

i was running a 1.9ms street file fine. but the majority of my driving was spent running a 2.1ms race file from Eric@IDP, and putting it under that PW to try and make full power might have strained the pump too much. and like i said. it maintained for quite a while just fine.

1.68 pw maintained 24,600 psi perfectly

would this put undue stress on the stock pump?
Not that I have found or seen.
