I finally got my handles back from paint and got them installed this last weekend. Way more solid feeling and if someone wants to break in they are going to have to break a window.

How much did that cost you? Seems like an expensive way to replace a window....

I had my driver side door lock popped when someone broke in and stole a bunch of crap. I always wanted painted door handles and the ones from ford that are smooth to paint are $80 each. but they are still plastic and easy to break appart. I got these from summit for $430 plus paint. I like them, they are solid and now I don't come out from a store wondering if my truck got broken into or not. Breaking a window draws way more attention then pushing real hard on a key lock then they are in.

Did those to all 4 of my doors last year. Wouldn't have it any other way. You guys obviously don't know how stupid easy it is to break into a stock superduty with plastic door handles.

:whs:
I didn't think anything about it till I got my lock popped. Now i have no key holes and i started noticing everyother superduty of all years with jacked up handles either broken out or screw driver marks from dumb asses trying to pry the handle out. The oem handle lock is only held in by 1 clip.

Looks good, so wat did you do with the old handles? I was told I could take a back door handle and put it in the front to get rid of the key holes....thinking if the 08-10s fit older years you might want to sell one.

Yep. All 4 of my billet handles are rears as well. No keys holes at all. I used the same brand.

All 4 are already spoken for. But you can get the driverside rear at the dealer for around $30 new.

Potentially, but not on mine. I wired in a Caterpillar boost receptacle, to a hidden location. There's also the digital keypad on the door.

So if you don't have your key FOB, or the batteries are dead, how do you get in your truck with the solid handles? Just have to break in?

I have a spare set of keys at home. I'm planning on running pos and neg wires off one of the batteries to a separate posts mounted on the frame somewhere so you can charge them enough to get in.

While those look great I don't see them keeping anyone from trying to pop the handle off
and wrecking the sheet metal and billet handle?

I have seen plenty where the sheet metal just below the handle was punched

My viper saved My last truck because as soon as they punched a hole just below the handle and popped the door lock the alarm sounded

It will also sound if the key less entry pad is used but the truck was locked with the alarm remote

Just get one of these. Way easier and cleaner. And that's exactly it, put enough juice to it from a charger to open the door locks. I've got the female end in a jumper to put on any charger.

I would rather have a mangled door with my truck still in the driveway, than some douchbag actually driving away in it. Even if it was recovered after being stolen, I'm not sure I'd want it back other than for parts.
