Bilstein Shock Installation - Rod/Boot up or Down

About to install my rear shocks tonight but wanted to get some feedback.

Yep. They refuse to fit the other way. I tried.

Idk, i have had bilsteins on all my trucks and the rod fits fine in the upward direction. Plus the boots have weep holes to allow moisture to drain out in that direction. I aso remember talking to the tech department and they told me to mount rod up.

But as that states different series shocks and applications may vary.

Mine fit just fine with boot up.

For the '05-17 years I don't recall too many changes. The rears have two different sized bushings in the eyes. The fronts have the stud mount....It's not rocket science.

I just looked at my rear 5100's and the label is upright with the boot up. So i left it alone.

this doesn't affect the ride quality of the shock? i'd rather the body be down and the rod up if i could do so

The upper and lower mounts are different diameter using different sized bushings. It's going to mount one way....boot/rod up.

Rod down in case it wasn't clear from earlier posts on my Bilstein shocks too. Lol
