Block heater cord

Ok I got the block heater cord from international today and the guy at the counter said the little metal tab on it needed to be positioned on the top. The plug on it is a 90* angle and if I position it that way it seems like it it won't fit and plug in. So my question is does the position of that plug matter. Thanks.

Iirc I put mine on with 90 turned down , like u said I dont think it will fit any other way.

The only way I could get it to fit to the element was to have the 90* looking up. With the amount of room there is by the starter I couldn't fit it in that way.

Can you get these from ford also or just from international?

Could have got one from ford but they told me there was a new part number and it came with a new element also. International had it in stock$25 ford $110. Napa also could get one but I would have had to wait till Thursday $25 also.

from ford you have to get both the cord and the element, not just one.
