check it out, mines been replaced at least 3 times since 96, but it doesn't get driven much at all. see if the pulley has any play, they are notorious for going out.

What's the best way to check? Unplug it were the hoses enters the break booster and check for vacumme? And would that cause an only left turn problem?

Thanks for the school lesson, helps me with the brake problem. Anyways took a closer look at the vac pump it seems to be making noise now. Is it an easy job to replace just unbolt the old on and bolt on the new one?

You'll need access to a pulley puller to pull the pump and replace it. Also there is one bolt that will not come all the way out with the pulley in place. So once you go to put the pulley onto the new pump make sure that you have that bolt in place.
