if you knew what alberta was like, you would understand. firstly, there is no emissions there. you can buy deleted trucks pretty much brand new off the lot. also, the ratio of trucks to cars is about 7:3 and most trucks are modded. beautiful country to boot...

Welllll, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, lol. But yeah, its hilarious to see dealers selling 6.4's with the tuner still on it and mentioning it in the ad as a selling feature. Derail over.

I dont know you enough to believe that, hence the comment in my previous post.

Just like my buddies "20mpg" lly that got 15-16.5 the two.tanks of fuel I ran through it in a week. He drives much more aggressively so I know he's FOS.

Ive only seen mpg close to 20 in 7.3s and old 5.9s.

Medicine Hat... Again
6.4 and good mileage=hilarious

Until someone can find a way to lower cruising boost the mileage is going to be horrible. Stock, tuned, deleted and tuned they aren't fuel.mileage competitors.

15 is the most id.believe out of someone mouth. Driving three different trucks with dpf's and two with piss injection I know 10mpg is pretty normal. I hear 12 and 13 as a deleted mpg average.from people I know that I trust their math.

Since 07 when they really killed the good fuel.supply my 7.3 has gotten worse and worse mileage. I used to see 18 on both of mine routinely, empty. Now 14ish or a lil higher. Winter=terrible. 10mpg. But I idle it and leave it running for heat etc.

I used to get 19-20 hand calculate with my 08 depending on the tune I ran. 7-10psi boost avg 75mph.

Its not just a random thought. I drive new trucks.

I know the 6.7s get good empty.mileage but pretty bad towing. The duraturd is.a ten mpg wonder. As is the last two dpf equipped trucks. They are supposed to be the ones that get the best mileage. My dads 6.4 would get under ten in the winter. Summer it was good for ten. Id expect deleting it to.improve.that to 14 or 15 as people I know have confirmed.

Thats great you get more than that in everything you drive.

I get great mileage in the stuff I drive and there are some things yhat just guzzle fuel. Driving a newer diesel WIIIITH the emissions in tact is reminiscent of driving a 454'd k 2500 or obs.with 460.

A lot of the guys saying bs on the 20mpg I think it depends on the truck and where the location was, all highway I could get around 700km depending on how patient I was with 35s, I could almost go a 100km before the needle moved, and I'm located in Petrolia ont, about 20 min from michigan boarder,
The trucks just been weird lately, emits a lot more smoke just putting around you can see a black haze coming from
The stack, gentle acceleration and it starts making over 30psi of boost, it's sluggish as hell most days, on a cold day now it barely wants to move even with 10 min of warming up, odd days it'll be normal and touchy, like on my 310 tune I could barely take a edge tuned f250 6.4 with 38x15.50s and 8" lift, I've spanked vettes and camaros before and challengers before no problem, the engine runs smooths idles smooth, sitting in the truck idles just as smooth as my dad's navigator, I have zero codes, I'm gonna change fuel filter n oil filter again, is something else I should be looking at? I just wanna get this thing running good again, I can't afford to put fuel in it every other day

I've had my pro guard 7 for 2 years now, maybe I'll get a new one then, I just cleaned it, but I feel like you still might be right, i couldn't get all the dirt outta it so that'd be nice if it was something simple like yhat, I've been wanting a sealed one anyways,
Thanks guys for the replies

Ya my buddy drives real easy and he can get 14mpg at best in the summer tuned.. 6.4's suck down the fuel, it was the deciding factor for me in 09..

completely understand that man, i just thought i would share my experience. i was pleasantly surprised because i was so used to getting 11-13 mpg. i doubt id be able to do it again until summer fuel comes out again. my buddies sisters 6.7 cummins was constantly getting 19-21 deleted. but idk if i believe that. its what was told to me. so i know what your getting at.

I didnt mean to come off as a coct but everybody says the durqmax is a mileage queen and mine have all been dismal if that is the case. Ive never hit 15 EMPTY. LBZ, Lmm, or LML. All in the 10mpg range.

I can see the mileage increasing with deletes but look at the six liter, deleted, still mediocre mileage. And they dont have near as much bs as any 08+ duramax, psd, or ctd.

My cousin Todd has an efilive tuned 6.7 qclb 6spd with bunch of fuel and air mods and it dynoed 740 something on #2. He dailies it and told me its good for about 18mpg under 2k rpms and if he uses a small portion of the power it drops REAL FAST.

Idk, ive been struggling with fuel mileage on all my trucks for a while now. My 7.3 isnt even.getting mileage anymore. Im not sure if my worn injectors and getting-bad-trans are to blame. Maybe I idle it too much? I think its pretty telling that running the same truck for all these years and being able to.get decent mileage and like someone turned a switch mine has tanked and nver recovered. I think its our fuel. Summer, winter, no matter, its about the same.

Wierd. I had an LBZ dmax and I could get 18mpg on any Hwy run. Worst I ever got in it was 13.

Right now one of our trucks is a six liter with a cold air intake and Gearhead tunes. It gets 14 in the city and up to 19.5 on a trip to Florida.

Lbz what? Scsb. I run cclb trucks for work. I towed everyday but at night with no trailer and recreational trips the fuel mileage doesnt ever really recover.

Ill tell you one thing, id.take an lbz over any of these new bosy style models. They were built better. These new motors are rattly buzzy piles of horsechit. No joke. Somedays in towhaul with about 8k behind it you swear the charger is about to come through the firewall. The front ends were pitiful on the older trucks but everything else was better. 07 classic was my favorite rig next to my 00 7.3(which I still have).

Yeah I have an 06 LBZ CCSB 4x4 and I've pulled 400-420 miles out of 22 gals of fuel with no low fuel light. That's on the highway, doing about 75mph.

I've also seen 20ish on the highway, out of my 6.4 CCLB dually.. People can say what they want, but they are capable of decent highway mileage if you can keep your foot off the go-pedal.

Ok. Maybe we neex to differentiate the type of driving. I can get on a big road set the cruise in my old ass 7.3 with 6" lift and 35's and roll at 75 and get a hand calculated 20mpgs. But combined driving, aka, real life style simulated driving you arent going to get 20+. Especialy if its pulling anything which is rare for most.

Unless you live within eyesight of an interstate the ten miles to get to one is going to average out your mileage numbers.

Keep it coming!

Aaaand I guess I need to go get a 6.4, tune it, pipe it, and drive because as careful as I drive I should easily get 20mpgs.

So the op's problem started in the spring? Early or late spring? I noticed early mpg loss this year like many others I know... my 7.3s always lost 2 to 3 mpg across the board. My 6.7 got 18-19 this summer and is sticking right around 15-16 right now....
