Building a new cold air intake, do I need to keep the MAF?

Im just gonna keep the MAF I think, no sense in just letting it hang there and look outta place.

This one looks like it should be correct other then its for 3" tube but I can work with that.

my truck never ran different with or without a MAF, but I like to keep things how they were intended. Just mount it on the underside of the intake

That's the plan, put it underneath so the top side looks nice and clean.
I'm prollay just gonna build my own flange too.
