Buying a 6.4 tuner

Ive been reading for weeks on here about the SCT livewire, Minimaxx, and the Spartans. Im going to be getting a 08-09 6.4 in the next month when I get rid of my 04 cummins. Im aware the transmissions in these trucks are alot more reliable with the power added. I had a list of parts besides tuners such as ladder bars, CAC pipe, EGR delete (whether or not to go with intake?), and exhaust.

Im stuck with choosing programmers. I heard great things about the KEM trans tuning and how smooth the power is but I hear they arent making higher HP and the minimaxx isnt great for gauges. The spartan on the other hand has a great Dashdaq but don't make as much power as the SCT? This is going to be a daily driver so Im wanting the most power for best overall driveability

I have tried almost every tune out there. I really like my tunes from Gearhead on the SCT. That's the route I'd go.

KEM seems to make good DD tune (345 tune being really popular for DD). It doesnt put down the numbers and times that Spartan, H&S, or Eric and Matt put down, but is a good DD tune. On the other hand, Spartans 310, H&S's 300HD, and Eric and Matts tunes on SCT are all putting down very very close numbers. You will just have to pic one and go with it. I think you'll be pleased with them all.

All of the big tunes are performing about the same power wise.

^^ My few weeks of hunting seems to get the same result as what Jeff said, everyone is getting really close to each other.

Get a feel for the different tunes, maybe a tuner in your area you can rely on and get custom tunes done locally will benefit you. I have my H&S MM now with H&S tunes but I'd love to try KEM's tunes on it just trying to get some locals together to make it worth while for all of us.

As for the device (not the tune) I love this MiniMaxx I have, small, SUPER easy to use, super easy to adjust, 4 gauges (wish there was more but it will do), getting my BlendMount on Tuesday to mount above the mirror with my radar so it will all be super clean.

I'll post my combo tomorrow when it shows up but here is their pictures of it by itself.
