What's up guys, I am a new member. On the 15th I am takin my 04 f350 cc drw in to pull the cab and put on head studs, egr delete, new oil cooler, and while it is in there I am gonna install a 5" exhaust and an SCT livewire, I was just wondering I you guys have any tips to make it a less time consuming process. I am pretty wrench savvy but this is my first go round on a superduty cab off. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the army! Are you using a car lift? That's the best way too. If you haven't done this before there are tons of step by step videos on this on YouTube.. (better then words) also are you changing the gaskets and surfacing the head too? I highly recommend it!

Thanks man, anybody got a rough guess at how long it take to get the cab off. Unhooking all the lines and wires and steering shaft.

my first time removing a cab myself took me 2.5 hours taking my time, and it was a crew cab.

If I work with my buddy together its up in an hour and a half

Its very easy, steering shaft, trans/transfercase harness and lever if manual selector, disconnect trans/powersteering lines on the radiator, disconnect ac lines, rad hoses, batteries, battery trays, grounds, degas bottle, heater core hoses

all i can think of right now on the top of my head.

like greg said..there are a few body grounds that need to be removed, I almost missed them my first time. lift it slowly and check every foot or so to make sure nothing is binding. 20mm open end wrench for the gearbox ps lines worked well for me.
and most of all..

TAKE YOUR TIME.

let us know if you run into any issues

Sweet thanks again guys, I plan on starting a thread on it while I am doing it. So you will know if there are any problems. (Because there will be a picture of me throwing all the tools in the floor like a little kid)

Every time my cab came off at the dealer they wrecked the ground strap on the passenger side that connects the cab to the frame... idiots. You'd think the tech would know that was there after "having done hundreds" of them.

Started it finally, got a couple shots of the tear down, and the other truck that was slowing my process down.

Yeah for the most part. I had a couple hang ups, but we got them before they became a problem.

What are you guys doing abotut he ac lines? Just crack and let blead, re-charge when done?
Is there a way to just move the lines or pump and not open them up?
I'll be doing this in a few weeks and haven't really looked at it too much yet.
Thanks for starting the thread.
