How do you get the cam gear off the cam ?

How do you get the cam gear off the cam ?

with a hydraulic press.

when you go to put it back on, make sure you set the end play (by adjusting how far the gear slides onto the cam)..heating the gear in an oven will make putting it back on easy-peasy...

and if you're doing any kind of performance (rebuild?)..then I'd recommend tig welding the cam gear to the cam shaft...keep the weld bead shallow otherwise it could scrape the back of the front cover.
