Can 175/75 injector hit 600+ rwhp? Yes or NO and why

Like what's been said, how severe was the defueling? Doesn't the larger nozzle give more room in the pulse width area? Less time open on a larger outlet than more time on a smaller outlet?

Heck, try them out. Just guessing by the 1500* area that nate's truck ran in, the 190's had to be pulled back decently. They support compounds for goodness sake's, much less a huge vgt pushing the air. I bet you can make 600hp or even a scoshe more.

I'd love to throw some 175's in my truck and try for 600rwhp, but I still have to tow heavy up through north GA and into TN. It would be awesome to have a 600rwhp 6.0l (verified by track times of course) that could be driven daily and still tow the tractor (14,000+) up to TN without issue. I think my combo is gonna be some 155's and the Stage 2. I figure about 525rwhp on fuel and 565+rwhp on water/meth would do the trick and be a really fun street setup.

calling an injector based on some math and cutting the internals and putting it back together is worlds apart in what its "true" flow rate is, when compared to bench testing and flowing an injector before it leaves the builders hands

a true 175cc injector does not have enough fuel for 600.

Yeh, you are right I should get the injector checked, But I would rather do it after, when I change up. JJ could answer the true flow since that where I got them from. Yes there will be track times and dyno numbers both. Maybe not same week but I will get both, I want to show everyone backed up by the other, which ever comes first.

Lets put the NO2 to that pig and make 750+rwhp on the 175's. Whadaya say?

I don't see how a 175/75 can make any over 550rwhp. I tell customers to expect the 175 to max out around 500rwhp. All our injectors are true 155 175 190 and 225cc injectors. Any bench that reads more is reading fat. Ever get a 5gal pail to hold 7 gal???

From my smart car.

Thank you, you should know the size of the injectors you built mine. So maxed out at 500 rwhp, any other info on maxed out for the other sizes? Also I used to have a bigblock 390fe in a 1967 mustang that was a 7 gals of crap in a 5gal pail in that engine carpartment. Then again ford really packed the 6.0 powerstroke into the engine carpartment too.

didn't think anyone put 100% nozzle on a 175cc injector. Thought only the highest nozzle injectors builders used on a 175 was a 75% nozzle. Kinda thought the large nozzle on a smaller injector hindered performance or didn't actually make much of a difference...just like you don't see builders putting a 100% nozzle on a 155 injector.

So where would a set of 155/50's be as far as RWHP and TQ? Fuel only with a Stage 2 (4088)? Any guesses?

I asked windrunner about this over on the nation but I don't know if he saw it.....

Can't you defuel 175/75% with a tune so you can tow 10K +????? I'm new I know, but I read about defueling alot in these threads.

you can certainly pull fuel out of the tune to make it useful for towing.

I know 155/30 or 155/50???? will work great with an MTW Stage 2, and still be able to tow heavy; like stated above. I was just thinking 175 could be defueled enough to flow like a 155 for towing. That way you can have a separate tune that allows full flow for the track.

Cause doin it on the street is wrong:lookaround:

I too am curious about this. Would 100% nozzles help that much on 175s? I've only heard of one guy running 175/100s.

I know that Dynos are respected about as much as politicians, but that's not the fault of the machine. Can 175/75s make 600whp? Sure. Just use a dishonest dyno.

Really though, with the recent advances in tuning, especially the FICM tuning, and with the advances we're seeing in turbocharger performance and air flow enhancements, I would suggest that it's possible that what was once thought to be an upper ceiling for a particular injector may have changed.
