Can a locked Livewire be unlocked with the software?

Found a livewire for a really good price. The only problem is that its locked. Can I unlock it myself with the software that is used to load tunes or does it have to go back to SCT?

nope, needs to be unlocked, cost is about $150 iirc and its a base tune unit.

So once you get the SCT unlocked by SCT, it just has a general tune on it. You no longer have the 3 pre loaded tunes??

That must be what i am dealing with, deleted the DPF but it still feels like its stock after tuning it haha
