Can I tow with 140 hp tune

Every truck and application acts different with load and EGT. Just knowing how EGT ramps is very helpful. Now that Ive had a gauge, I could drive my truck without one, but when blind, it was a risk not worth taking. For me when towing, extra power is overrated--I wont drive any faster with it and dont need to climb the hill any faster. Although it is kinda fun now and then passing a few cars with a good load on a 5+% grade.

@mandkole-i noticed that when my head is.in the game towing I pretty much heed.the speed limit. I also never needed the tunes extra fuel. I only romp it when Im showing off. So pretty much never,lol.

Its.amazing what happened.to.egts when I deleted the.ebpv and put a full.4" exhaust on. Egts.dropped 200° always. It was awesome and something us high mileage 7.3 guys take for granted about 6 mos after we do it.


To the op-you're foolish if you go get that load and drag it using any tunes until you get gauges.
