not really. a salesman will tell you yes.

you wanna keep the turbine small so you can keep it lit in od. also depends what states ypu wanna tow through, who builds your 190s, who tunes it, and what you consider actually being able to tow something. Im sticking with no just because I wouldn't setup someone to successfully tow with it. I tow my trailer with 205s, but I would have never attempted it with the 64/71 with diverter I was running before I built the last set of compounds. I hated a 364 but I ran the 71mm turbine which the 68mm came out to replace the 71. everyone is intitled to there own opinion, I tow in cali where its 55mph. try that with that setup and 12k+ behind it. whats wrong with an fmw 62. call cutting edge. he runs one on his personal truck and sends me vids of towing so I know it works. plus flow rate is superior to a cast 64. you have less rotational mass and more flow.

I agree and disagree with you. Any 6.0 no matter what turbo has issues towing in overdrive at any speed under 70mph. I can tow all day with my truck with 225/100 and a 66/73/91 with t4 pipes and a tow tune that locks out overdrive until 70 in tow/haul. 55mph is a breeze in the park locked in direct gear at 50-55mph in my truck. The new FMW 64 is going to be sweet, we have a kit on the way down to texas with one for a 6.4 with a 73 turbine...

haha guess you haven't driven mine ;) and yes she still lays numbers down. I can tow with my race truck all day long but it wouldn't be something I would recommend to anyone. manual vb gives me full control. of course the smoke would be stupid. kinda like towing with 225s and a 66 hahaha.

I've towed heavy with my 225s and a 66, I would not call it a "tow friendly" setup by any means. Yes it is doable, I still do it occasionally, but everytime I do I am reminded why I miss my old setup (155s/ stock turbo). It gets old not being able to hear when towing because the truck wont stay in od, not to mention the smoke. I've gotten used to high egts with this setup so I don't really pay attention to them anymore, but with my old setup it was nice not even having to worry since they would rarely climb over 1000 when towing with a good tow tune.
Edit: I am interested to see how the new 64 from BW is going to run, especially if it flows what a cast 66 does

Haha! its all a matter of opinion, bottom line is its do-able, as long as you don't mind staying in locked direct gear all the time, can stand the noise of the exhaust etc. The smoke levels and temps aren't bad if the revs are up... Not everyone can have the comfort of compounds. But I do know that 190/100 and a 62fmw tows awesome. I'm contemplating trying the 64.5 FMW with a 73 turbine to see what it can do.

I want one of these 64.5s for my sti. I really don't want an 800+hp car right now lol. I was gonna sell my 8374 and use another 9180 but that's the happy medium

190/75's and a pmax with 15k behind me all day. 64/71 with a .70a/r still wasn't enough to keep the charger lit well enough to pull anything over 8k without getting hot up grades. Hated that turbo. .83 would have made it way worse. Ran both housings on my 62/68. I cruise with 8psi at 75mph with a 78mm under it.
