Asking for a friend.
6.7
Tried gearhead tuning and Dave Matthews tuning. CNt hardly pull a boat. Any ideas ??

Won't spool in first, does ok in second but once cruising around 2k it looses spool.

Turbo specs
In. 66mm, turbine o.d. 8Omm, turbine Ex. 73mm with .88 A/R housing

Well first you need to junk the .88 open housing. They are junk.

What tuner device?

I've grossed 23k with a 66/73/.91 and had zero issues even at 4000ft. Towed like a freaking animal.

Who's pedastal kit?

He said no leaks, it will hit 42 psi and pull hard, but won't do a burnout. He built his own pedestal. He has the same turbo on his duramax swapped suburban and it works good.

Well it's not the engine or the turbo. I don't like the .88 open housing. Believe me than a .91 divided will walk it. Make 20psi spooling off the brake and burnouts whenever you want.

Must be either tuning or something with the turbo setup.

The ebp sensor is not on even on the truck, and also while trying to do boosted launch the truck won't fuel while on the brake, soon as you let off brake the rail pressure will spike and start fueling.

If it's not fueling then it's all the computer disallowing it, not hard parts. And plug the ebp sensor back in. You can't just remove sensors. There is no physical reason it will not spool. Return it back to stock and load the regular h&s hot tune back in the truck with low boost on 5. Your custom tunes may not be allowing fueling.

The Germans sure believe in that housing on their bmw 3.0 turbocharged engine (single turbo) so much so they moved away from two turbos and went back to one...

Will the h&s tune cause codes since vgt isn't there

I drove one for a long time like that. It will work just fine. Not perfect. But it seems like what he has doesn't work at all.

So what BMW has a s300 turbo from the factory?

I'm just speaking from experience with these trucks. Not a fan of the .88 open. Causes higher BP and they don't spool as well.

Somehow left off the last sentence. Anyways. I found it interesting because the Germans experimented with an open housing. Results were bad so they went with a divided (sst)

Same thing Morgan was referring too.
