I got cel light after i changed the alternator. I think the alt shorted to ground cause is sucked the juice out of the batterys after i shut the truck off. The codes i get are
B2900
U2011
U0100
B1318
U2023
U0100

Ya I tried to clear and they come right back as soon as you start the truck. I also reprogramed the truck to. When i did that it stayed off for about 6 miles.

The boost gauge in the dash dosent work. everthing else does tho. I was driving the truck when the battery light came on. when i got to work last week i open the hood and notice the alternaor was smoking with the truck off. It drained the batterys in like mins . I disconnected the cable from the alt and the batterys come back to life and the rest of the truck. I charged the batterys . Then a few days later i changed the alt out and now codes and the boost gauge does work.

The guage not working means the dash or some thing isn't communicating with the ecm since you can read the boost with Sct.

At this point I don't have any suggestions for you other than checking just about every fuse in both fuse boxes for something blown.

I wish I had a better list of communication codes for you Buddy...

Clusters in these things seem to be pretty delicate.

I've seen a few of them roasted by welding, usually the fuel gauge goes for a dump in my experience. Even with the batteries disconnected.

It may have cooked the cluster, I can't look the codes up right now; ran an oasis on my vin with those dtc's and no tsb's or ssm's found. 08 J3 F350.
