Did you pull the codes? Low ICP code wont cause it to run funny afterwards, but an overboost code will.

I'll go ahead and nip this one in the bud (because I'm sure some keyboard mechanic is going to say otherwise) by saying that an OBS WILL throw overboost codes.
I have had this issue with my truck and witnessed it with others. It will give you a CEL and then run rough until you shut the truck down and restart it.

Mine does NOT run rough after throwing a p0238 but that's one of the ways a '97 California is different than the Federal trucks. Your generalization is not correct and referring to others as "keyboard mechanics" can be considered offensive when you are WRONG.

I never said they all do it. Why you getting all but-hurt about it? Or do you just want to tell everybody how special your truck is?

That comment aimed towards the people who usually show up in these threads talking about how OBS trucks won't throw overboost codes because their friends brother-in-laws co-workers truck does 45psi without a CEL.

It's well documented that some OBS trucks will throw codes just like the SD trucks. So un-bunch your panties and lets get the OP's issue figured out.

Its also just as well documented that some Federal trucks do not run bad after a overboost CEL. Back in the day when stageIIs were just getting popular, competent individuals were reporting on both sides of the overboost issue. It was presumed some had PCM controlled defueling. There never was an attempt made to see if there was a correlation between what PCM tune codes did it or not, be it TEE-x, TDE-x or NAW-x.

As far as the OP, just stick on a boost fooler and see if that cures it especially if you are getting over the 24psi trippoint for the CEL

My guess it that the TW tunes are written around the overboost code while BTS tunes are not. Either install a boost fooler or send the chip back to be reburned with TW tunes, both should have the same effect.
