Thanks for cutting me some slack
Yeah, I have driven quite a few of them and ridden with a buddy towing that had one. I started working with them about 12years ago when I started turning wrenches for a living. I have installed turbo kits, "tuned" pumps on a dyno, replaced injectors, trannys, and done other troubleshooting/repair/maintenance over the years. I know that they are not powerhouses, and not the best riding chassis out there. They kind of remind me of my old diesel Mercedes for simplicity and reliability - they just keep on going. Just some of my thoughts anyway.
I think I will stick with my restored OBS with a 6.4 and a ZF6 idea as something to keep me busy if i win the lottery "just because I can" truck.
Yeah, the turbo kit for an IDI that I saw was probably 8 years ago at this point. I'm mostly just messing with you about it. It's not for me, but neither is a 6.0 LOL. I get the whole hanging on to the older diesels for simplicity and reliability, I still DD my 7.3s after all. The old diesel mercedes are up there with my end of the world trucks... manual 12v or a duece and a half multi-fuel... simplicity, reliability, and run just about anything I want through it.
I have a few "if I win the lottery" ideas myself... maybe I should start playing.
