Coils or leafs on front axle for drag racing?

How do you make them the same length on a stock height or lowered truck and be parallel?

Unfortunately they are different lengths. I'll see what I can do to change that. I looked at some top 3pt links today at tractor supply and I'll prolly go that route. Thanks Jason!

Like I said a good rule of thumb - its not necessarily a requirement - you might not have enough bump steer to matter over the range of motion that your suspension needs to travel - depending on how you set it up and what your actual travel ends up being. Since they aren't the same length and parallel its going to require a little more investigation and thought to make sure that you are good to go for your intended purpose.

Just go look at a stock truck. They are not parallel and not the same length.

There is more to it than that. Even if you have them both parallel and different lengths the way they pivot isn't going to match. They each will have a different radius.

Don't buy your suspension components at a tractor supply store.

To answer your question... Yes. I also remember sticking everything from 3/8" ratchets to Jack handles in them. New with tight fitting bolts I would imagine they be as tight or tighter than the worn out 300k mile rubber isolated non-adjustable link I have now.

And yes I know somebody makes an absurdly overpriced unit as well which having held one I can tell you that the $27.99 3pt unit is at minimum 100% thicker and more robust than the $200 aftermarket unit.

OK - I'm not sure how I missed the tractor top link comment.... If you want to use tractor top links for steering or suspension, you'll have bigger problems than bump steer to worry about....

There is a reason they are more expensive, because they are built better, last longer, and are not going to make noises. They were built to be used for suspension components. Honestly not overpriced when you don't have to replace them.

The tractor joints are going to clunk, you will feel it in the floorboards, and you will have to rebuild or replace them often. Why have a set of expensive coilovers and put those on?

That is not the right mentality to have towards things like this. Not only are you gonna drive this but you want to race with it!!!

LOL Take it easy... just throwing out ideas. If it doesn't work I'll know long before it hits the track. This is just one in a long line of experimental hillbilly projects I've tried. Lets stay on the pit falls of coil sprung 4wd drag trucks.
