Their fine I live in Canada and mine is hardly plugged in. The coldest its started read off the spartan was -2 oil, -6 coolant. She fired up, no it took a while before I drove it because I am anal about moving it if coolant and/or oil are bellow 100

At least I'm not the only person anal about that. Truck won't move unless oil and coolant over 100. Don't care if I'm late as hell either lol

-40 here in the ND Oil Fields.. About the only thing that started was the 6.4L.... For those of you that think the wind doesn't affect equipment, Tell me why my semi trucks will start when its 0 degrees with no wind but when its 0 then add tons of wind that brings it to -40 with wind chill NOTHING starts? The air temp gauges in the cab will say 0 but with wind its -40... Not arguing, just saying!

It has to be the fluids because there is no doudt in my mind the wind makes a differance... I have proven it many times..

Wind make a difference. We try to park trucks down wind. Ones that don't get turned around won't start

Thanks for all the replies! Truck started fine at -19 after sitting all night. Sounded a little pissed off but after it warmed up it ran great. It shocked me. Thanks again guys!

What school you at?

And for ****s I start 6.4's in below 30 without cycling glow plugs. They fire right up just like a duramax

I did this too just for kicks, but at -20f. Cranked for a hair longer but fired up and was just a little smokey-er than normal at start up
Nice thing about the 6.4 and 6.7 is not having to use thick oil to fire the injectors. So it should fire right up with healthy glow plugs, batteries, and ungelled fuel
