Those tcases are completely different and bolt pattern is nothing alike. Gearvendor told me they were not offering anything because the 6r essentially already has 2 overdrive gears.

Good to know and thanks for the info. Like I stated earlier, I have both the 6R140 with it's transfercase and my 02 F350 4X4. I'm going to take a close look at these two and see just how different they are. Making an adaper shouldn't be too difficult nor too expensive but the deal breaker may be the coupler. If I need to I will pull my gear vendor to take it's coupler and see if it's different. Chances are it will be and if that is the case having one of those made probably will be prettey expensive... But we'll see!!!!

Re-gearing both diffs is an option, but if I can make a GV work I'd rather go that route... But like I said, I'll have to see just how this goes...... Just another one of them obstacles that so often happens in builds such as this!!!!

That is what I was thinking. 3 overdrives would be a bit crazy I would think. If anything, refers the axles to get the cruising rpm you want. Trust me the 4.88's in the 450's get old after a while. Even with the 6 speed manual, the rpm's are still high and get annoying after a few hrs into a long trip.

Thus the reason for an extra overdrive!!!

I may very well re-gear this thing with some 4.30s......I just know that damn S110 rear pumpkin is one heavy sum-bitch!!!

And I do appreciate all the input guys!!!

I like the idea of the 6.0 rods in the 6.7. Seems like the perfect combo for guys who are wanting to go over 650hp, but not go over 900+ hp.

Yes sir, I think it's a nice option to have. Now I don't know just how feasible it would be if one would have to ship their crankshaft out to take care of the machining and the heat treating, you know with these crankshafts being so damn heavy!!! But thankfully I have those services available right here in the DFW area!!! After the rod journals have been turned down to size I'm going to have those nitrated and then the whole rotating assy. properly balanced. Now if I were to be building a max effort engine, well then I'd have no other choice but to go with some $3500 billet rods!!! But thankfully that's not the direction of this build!!! I have a twin turbo (88mm) LS motor that's taking care of that sickness!!! Billet block, billet crank, billet rods and some badass canted valve cylinder heads which flow damn near 500cfm!!! :naughty: This 6.7 is just for my tow vesicle for that other sickness.....

Anyone would like to share their suggestion on a high-pressure turbo I should go with??? And by all means, if you'd like to suggest the low pressure snail to go with it that'd appreciated just as well!!!

Maybe its just me but I think the 6r is going to suck driving around with 4.88's. It could just be me but I know when I get stuck in anything moving above 10 mph and then below it my truck will shift into 1st, then if I go to accelerate again without coming to a stop it revs up and jerks into second quick it seems. It feels like 1st gear is so low that it runs out really quick with my 3.55's. I don't know the exact numbers so I can't do the match but I would think you will be running out of RPM's and hitting second before you really get the load moving.

I'm just thinking out loud here. I hate driving my truck in traffic because of this. I usually manually shift it so I can keep it in second to avoid the way it bangs out of first if I am rolling around at 5mph. But yours my never go back down into 1st unless you stop it.

This is good to know for sure!!! I think a gear change is now going to be the way to go.... I'm going to calculate the RPMs at a cruising speed of about 75-78 mph with some 245/70R19.5 tires and see what gear comes the closest to that... But since there's only a few to choose from I'm pretty sure it'll have to be the 4.30s!!!

Plus if I ever get into a situation where I need a lower gear I can always do that thru the transfer case by choosing 2 wheel or 4 wheel low!!!

Well then, there's nolonger a need to invest over 3k on a Gear Vendor, now I have to shop for some 4.30s!!!

Thanks to all for the input on the gearing situation, now for those two TURBOS!!! :naughty:

What year truck, pre-2015 or the 2015-2016 turbo?

It's going to be interesting to see just how well that's gong to work??? Should broaden the power-band for sure!!!

No way I would feed an sst turbo anything more than atmospheric pressure. The 2015 turbo can take WAY more abuse.

I have a precision 88mm feeding a modified 2015 turbo and so far I'm happy with the results. I would say a 2015 turbo with a thrust bearing upgrade is easily as durable as an s300, it's seen lots of nitrous and now a big atmosphere charger and still zero shaft play. That's with just one small wastegate controlling drive pressure.

You could definitely get away with a small s300 charger as a high pressure and it would tow fine and keep egt's in check but it'll have more flat spots and you may have to work the tap shifter more.. it's all preference I personally like the vgt chargers a lot.

2015. Im thinking GTX4202R with a 0.96. No plans on fuel at this time. There is another guy on here that has been running Industrials 75 remote for quiet a while and is happy with it, although he mentioned going a little smaller or changing housings to get the turbo to light sooner. He is all stock as well and pulls heavy ALL the time. Chris Corbin is his name and he has a thread in the tech section. Talk to him.

To be honest that's what I was hoping to go with a modified 2015 turbo just as you mentioned. But I wanted to get some feedback from you folks who have the experiance with this diesel stuff!!! I have a couple of brandnew GT47-88s sitting in my garage that I used to mock up on my Twin Turbo Out Law Drag Radial build. I may use one of these just to see how it works but realize there are way better options. I kinda figure I have them and won't hurt to try one... I question I do have, on the Atmo, do you guys use a T4 or a T6 Turbine???

And as far as the wastegate a 44 to 45mm???

Oh yeah, my plans are to go with a dual dueler as well.... Not trying to make a race truck by any means, but just like power that's all... I mean, who don't, right???

T6 turbine

38-45mm wastegate

A gt47 wouldn't be a bad choice, iirc the 47 turbine is a little smaller than typical s400 atmo so it would probably spool nice.

You would definitely want dual fuelers or the extra air would be pointless.

Sounds good, so with that all I have to shop for at this point is a modified 2015 turbo and it's supporting hardware.... Now I'll have to decide on is which one of the modified 2015 turbos to go with???

I would just run a stock 2015 turbo, the atomo will give you all the extra air you need.
