compounding a kc stage 3??

has anyone compounded a kc stage 3 turbo before? will this work or does the turbo not respond well to the extra flow?
i have never seen it done yet so there's probably a reason.

It should work excellent. My original plan was an s480 over a kc stage 3 with 330/150s. I decided against it due to lack of funds to put rods in.

Yeahhhhhhhh, about that tuning down and not driving like a jackass.... My experience is, it doesnt work.. Only thing between you and 1000 hp is 10 minutes with a tuner, i know i dont have that much self control. LOL

Ive got a stage 2 and a 476, 250/100s. Track time/mph are putting me at around 780. It can take more fuel too. About 200ft my exhaust is clean. Ran 11.75 and 114.75 at 7660 lbs. 330/150, stage 3 and a 480 i would reckon would be damn close to 1000...

Oh, that was on xtreme street as well. Didnt want a race tune due to stock rods, and the water/meth is not installed as i lost my reservoir (washer tank) adding the 476... So this setup probably has another 30 horse in it, just with timing changes on a race tune..

charlie fish of kc turbos cracked the tune a few years back for the 6.0 to make vgt compounds work when more than 40 psi was hit. before this there was an issue with ebp at around 40 psi. 6.0 Tech will be able to tell you more but im pretty sure a couple of tuners are able to do it.

Just have to add a higher reading ebp sensor, make sure you use a non-inferred ebp strategy, and then fix all the tables. I have lots of guys running vgt compounds and it works perfect. TSD, IDP, and ******** all have the tricks to do it.

On my setup... s2r/s476sxe and 250/75s I was making about 750hp running 11.90s. Ran as clean as a whistle going down the track. 65psi boost and 85psi EBP max (much better boost/ebp ratio than any other turbo I have ran, vgt or non-vgt).

Not right off the top of my head, but I know some have. I will have to go back through my emails and check.

I am thinking about compounding my race truck and adding an s480 over my KC S3... hoping for 900hp fuel only.

I have yet to tow with mine due to injector issues. It should tow fairly decent though. Hoping to hook thw trailer up within the,next couple weeks, as long as the injectors stay in 1 piece
