We are looking at switching to twins on my 6.0

Nothing on sizing is definite. We are considering anywhere from a 63/68 over a 78/92/1.10 as a quick spooling set up or a 66/74 over 88/92.

We are looking for 850-900 on fuel and throwing some spray in the mix.. we will be gating the secondary to feed the primary and control drive pressures.

obviously our boost/drive pressure is going to be up there and I'm looking for the next weakest link.

Anybody out there got any suggestions? decking the pistons to lower compression? Although I would prefer not to use ether to start my truck.

Aftermarket rods?

Thanks guys

what are you thinking about for injectors? to get to 900 on fuel, you going to need something in the neighborhood of 430cc's...

What about dropping the compression? Is that something people chasing these kind of numbers do on the 6.0?

I've never really look into building a hot 6.0.

alot of guys with twins have dropped compression a point and it hasn't hurt start up at all. Just ask Shawn, Tyler and Matt.

Well we are building the sticks according to what we are doing turbo wise... Im mostly concerned with the internals aspect... and yes this will be a dd/drag truck

Ellerton made 1004rwhp with only lower compression pistons and hypermax rods for internal mods. Everything else was stock. Just goes to show ya that the stock parts in these trucks hold up extremely well as making big power.

I'm not that familer with his setup. Was his rotating assembly balanced? Completly stock valve train springs or anything? I'm assuming this was with spray as well?

Can't speak for Shawn, but if your going for 900 HP on fuel, you are going to need rods for sure...balanced rotating assembly, notched and coated pistons, camshaft, pushrods, studs, heads that are ported properly, aftermarket intake manifold, aftermarket fuel system and HUGE injectors..or hybrids.
What I llisted already your at what...$7or $8000.00 with no injectors...and anywhere from $3500-$4500+ for injectors...
Throw in another $5500.00 for a transmission...:fordoval:

really, and has ANY proven to make any power with that combo, all you've done with that combo is break crap

yes for 2 years i ran stock heads, cam, crank, bottom was never balanced, stock ford pistons with bowl work(not coated) ran a full year at 11.5-11.2 and the next year ran 10.6 consistant event after event,

then i finally spent money when i cracked a piston and the truck runs like crap.been one thing after another. next season the ONLY mods will be bowl work to stock pistons, hypermax rods, arps holding the heads down. my stock cam, heads, valve train, etc will all be stock and no the bottom will not be balanced.

if you want todo it right, stock heads, cam, exhaust manifolds, do a modded intake, arps, rods and do some bowl work, this combe has proven to work
