Coolant additive.

The check additive message came on the other day with less than 14k miles on it.. I know I need to get it to the ford house to get it checked... but how often does everyone's message pop up and how soon did it happen?

All you need to do is clear it. But you could test it with testing strips that's the same thing the dealer would do.

The local ford dealer sold me 10 strips for 4 dollars.

Just to let you know the strips expire so don't buy a lot of them. We have them at work to test ph levels and they were expired so I went and got some from ford. I have 158k on my company truck and never have needed the additive.

I know it's an old thread but my coolant light is on for the second time. Truck just rolled 26k. Is it okay to just reset and check it when I change the oil in another 3k miles?
