other than it starts on the first time and takes less time waking up the neighbors to warm up i don't see too many. its nice but still takes warmup time.

Thermal shocking and premature engine wear come to mind.
The vast majority of cylinder bore wear is the direct result of engine cold start.

If my oil temp is above 60 degrees I just jump in and drive it. There is no need to let it sit there and idle for a long time unless the windows are frosted up. If you take it easy and keep your rpms below 1500 and drive slow you will have no trouble.

I agree completely. Think about the stiff oil that is in there. Start it like that and All of a sudden your cylinders are not getting lubed when they should be. SO they are running up and down on bare metal!! Or metal that is not lubed like it should. And when oil is that stiff your crank bearing will not be getting the lube that they need right away.

I agree with you 100% Its flat out hard on everything. Not to mention the HEUI engine run OFF oil pressure. So now you are taking that cold oil and pressurizing it to over 1000 PSI on start then down to 900 and on down as it warms up.

I start driving it when the oil temp reaches 80. I have found that if I start driving it before then it won't be up to temp and stop the ebpv by the time I get on the highway. I was being sarcastic when I said that by the way. I know there's other benefits to it.

Ok got you!! LOL I do not have a EBPV any more. And I have almost 4 miles of driving before hitting the pavement. Another thing to is @ 1500rpms I am right around 60.... SO i can run low RPMs for warm up but still get places.

I won't have an ebpv by summer either. I ***in hate it. I just had 2 retards walking around my truck wondering what the sound was and trying to find my exhaust because it's an axle dump right now.
