It's not that hard.

Take off the grille, lights, radiator, and anything else that's attached to it, then unloosen the two bolts at the bottom, and there should be some bolts/screws holding it to your fenders, take those out and it's ready to go.

At least that's how it went on my 85.

Thats not to bad. I've had the front end apart once just not that far apart. Am I going to need new body mount bushings for it too?

Depends on how they look, if the rest of the truck needs new bushings then you might as well do them while it's apart.

Pstroke96 did a write up on the nation. I replaced mine and it was fairly straight forward. Remove the grille, parkin lights, header panel, latch assembly, radiator, battery trays, and it comes right out. The write up is pretty good. I'll see if I can't find it

When changing out the core support...

I assume you have to remove the A/C Condensor and open/evac the system..Is this true?

Maybe I will wait until mine starts leaking to change out the core support at the same time...

No this is not true. There is enough flex in the hoses to work it around the support when pulling it out. Instead of just letting it hang out in the open I used a short ratchet strap hooked to the hood to support it

i just used some bailing wire to hold it up out of the way but work around it gingerley if there arent any holes in it you wont want to put any in it. it wasnt that difficult. i would definately replace the bushings mounts and bolts while your in there on my truck they werent in any better shape than the support. good luck!
