I'm sorry, what??
I'm sorry... I know you cummins guys with your P pump's think you are the top dogs...
But the 7.3 powerstroke started the revolution. It built the market...
I'm sorry, what??
I see this thread going nowhere. Went from what could have been a discussion on idle quality of different tunes on a 7.3, to pointless "bashing" and "trash talking" for no reason. From what most likely has to do with previous beefs certain people have had with other certain people and or products. Then it gets derailed with someone who no one even knows coming in a claiming someones truck to be faster then anothers truck, and now theres the start of bickering about what diesel was the grand daddy of diesel performance. Joe your threads always seem to attract derailments. LOL

Joe, you have a 950 RPM high idle and a 750 normal idle? My Gearhead high idle is 1150 RPM. You could've kept it in high idle for more than a few seconds to show how they really perform.
Started the revolution? Built the market? What in the actual ***k are you talking about?
Think Joe is moving towards the fact that the tuner of choice for (most) p-pump owners is a 8mm socket and die grinder.
And 7.3's were the first engine where performance (tuning wise) was controlled electronically, the predecessor to CR so to speak.
At least that's my read.
That does sound pretty slick. I'll be sending my chip back to Matt in a couple of weeks for a reburn, so maybe I can get this instead of the "whisper"?Its not a "high idle" persay. If you notice I am not changing tunes... After a few seconds the tune automaticly bumps up to 950-1000 RPM's, which is perfect for keeping the AC cold, the heat moving and brings the volts right up to 14v. When in drive it doesnt do this, only when it park...
Its pretty slick really. Matt didnt say anything about it when he sent the tune, and when it first did it I thought something was wrong.

EDIT: I wonder if it can be programmed with a time delay or a time delay relay installed for stop and go traffic. TPS at 0% for X amount of time with truck in D, for example. That would be very nice.
^^ I hear that, just say no to the whisper, aka mosquito fogger.
what file was on the driving vid? 1000 egt with 15K in tow at 75?
Thats all I wanted to chat about...
I was impressed with the idle quality of the tunes I just loaded yesterday.
Yes, pulling a slight hill coming out of the valley...
Flat land at 75 pulling I normally sit about 850-900*... I'm hoping this new wheel will drop that a bit, if not I will throw the 17cm housing back on.
That automatic high idle is pretty slick.
Let's also in theory of course...say that 1100 rpm is juuuust enough to propel a unmanned ccsb 250 with loaded enclosed car trailer in tow through your yard and into a light pole if you jump out and say...forgot to make sure it's in park. ***er scoots for only 1100rpm lol.
