Anyone ever do anything different with than the factory degas bottle? Would love to do an aluminum one or something like they use in cars. Just an idea that came across my mind thinking about how I can make my engine bay look a little better

check out innovatives compound kit. they have an aluminum bottle to replace the factory degas bottle.

i asked a long time ago if they would sell separate and i was told no, that i could only get it if i bought the compound kit. unless they have changed their minds now.

text me when you find out. we have a decent relations with mishimoto. id love to rock their product.. and throw it on the trucks at the shop

I'm definitely interested in something in aluminum. Not for the stock location either. It would be nice to move it somewhere else, not exactly sure where yet but I know I don't want it where it is now.

Really like the mishimoto one but I wonder about cap pressure and stuff like that... how will it affect the cooling system?

There are a butt-ton of aluminum tanks for mustangs out there. They all use the exact same 16 lb cap that our trucks required. It would be pretty easy to replace the factory degas bottle with one for the mustang. You can mount it anywhere you want as long as the cap is the highest point in the system. That is my plan.

Exactly, I see no reason why we can't just use something already available. I would LOVE to have something else, my bottle is always in the way. I swap a butt load of FICM's back and forth on my truck so if the factory one wasn't there.... oh man that would be nice.

How many 6.0 guys are going to freak out when they realize they can't readily see their coolant level? LOL

I dont see how it could be any different as long as you stick with the same psi cap as the stock is what like 16lb i think. And like said keep it the highest point in the system.

I guess the capacity will just be a little bit less... But really how much will that effect anything considering how much it holds already...
