Unless you have the older style self centering lug nuts you will have a problem. The "bud" style lug nuts we have do not center anything on the hub.

OBS trucks have lug centric wheels. Super dutys have hub centric wheels. On an OBS you can use wheels with larger center holes because the wheel is centered using the lug nuts. On super dutys you can not because the wheel is centered using the hole in the center of the wheel.

I was going to comment more here and I finally figured out that the OP probably has a SRW truck. I assumed that he had a dually. I guess it's becuase I have one.

If the OP does have a dually, I still believe your information to be inaccurate.

Never mind - carry on.

I was not even thinking about a DRW in that case you would be correct. I have seen pictures of Wint's truck so I knew it was a SRW.

Yes sir(s), SRW.

Messed with it the other day and got the rear brakes to work some. Makes a noticeable difference but it needs new pads and the whole 9 yards. While thinking and looking at it, it was noticed that a dually has a larger drum. Larger drum = more braking. I have a OBS dually rear end, can i swap over the brake setup?

They will (if same model axle,) however with the difference in depth between the assemblies would relocate your hubs farther from the differential so therefore your axle shafts would be too short. You would have to have custom shafts made. Drw rear housings are narrower than srw housings because of the bigger brakes and the axle shafts are different in length as well.

If you want the bigger brakes, swap axles. If same model axle you can pull your gear set out of your current rear and put it in the drw. If not, gotta by gears. A drw rear axle will put your trac width in the rear the same as the front or a little wider depending on if it was a pickup, c&c or van rear axle

If its a 10.25, pull out the axle shafts, remove diff cover, remove cap bolts and caps, yank out carrier with ring. For the pinion, hit the big nut inside the yoke with a heavy duty impact gun. Preferably while ring and axle shafts are in to bind the pinion someho to keep it from rotating. Not hard at all

Did anything ever get figured out with this swap? Did the OP complete the swap? Want to do the same thing with my truck.

Does anyone know if you can swap the hubs from a 10.25 onto a 10.50 but still use the shafts and brakes from a 10.50 but with e350 rotors?

Biggest complaint about the TSM is that they use either chevy C-10 or 76-78 El Dorado calipers and they are too small for use with our trucks. Also some have complained about seal problems.

There are mods for the OBS axle that use the SD calipers/ E350 van rotors. Check out PSNation for the posts.

I would suggest a duramax aam 1150 rear end over a dana 80 any day

This is a terrible idea Chevy uses the thinnest tube of everyone's axle. They are best in the scrap pile
Dana 80 in a dodge is not really a true 80 its considered a 70/80 hybrid
the dana 80 used in early 94-94 superduty was a true 80 bigger axles and so on in the late model super duties.
I have a 01 dodge dana 80 in my 99 fummins conversion the perches will need to be moved, shock brackets as well the speedometer will plug right up and work

In my 95 fummins I have a dodge 11.5 AAM but mine is full air ride on the rear
both rear axles are wider than the stock sterling axles
