Deleting fuel cooler...

Would it be ok to delete the fuel cooler? Has it been done before? It would be nice to get the damn thing out of the way. Here's what I'm thinking, planning to delete the fuel bowl, replace the stock lpfp with another setup that is properly filtered. Regulate the pressure before the hpfp and possibly after, return the fuel directly to the tank where the temp can equalize.

Thoughts?
