I'm just wondering how the rear is setup? From the looks of it, you just install new spring hangers or do you flip the axle as well?

Good to know. Thanks. Next question is; what did you guys do for traction bars? I'm thinking my OUO's are gonna hang waaaaay low and might tear them up

Never got to do bars but bars under the axle will still be the same distance off the ground.
The body is lowered in reference to the axle the able can't get closer to the ground unless u run a smaller wheel/tire combo

If your running the power that you are talking about. I would check out the fabbing that was done on Ryan's (KIND) truck. He had total carnage on the rear with slicks. Basically, DJM does not use the stock sprig perch that is on the rear end. The equipment they sale is pretty good, but not rated for that much torque and it will not hold it. He just re-located his spring perches to the bottom of the axle. I am going to be doing this to mine when I get home. There is a link on CompD showing pics of the carnage and showing repairs. Hope this helps ya.

That wasn't a DJM kit. He had a flip kit that he destroyed. The DJM is not a flip kit and does not change how the axel is mounted to the springs. It is different hangers and a drop shackle.

This is a DJM flip kit. It is what I run on my truck and I might be mistaken but I am fairly sure (by looking at the pics) that it is what Ryan had on his. I could be wrong, but for sure the kit he was using was set up the same as mine. He relocated the spring perched under the axle. He went back with stronger u-bolts and I believe he used the plate that comes with Caltracs on the bottom. Like I said, I could be mistaken, but I have talked to Ryan several times to make sure what he did to improve strength. I might be wrong about this, but I think there is someone that replied in this thread that actually did the work on Ryans truck.

Here's what they said they did to fix the problem

"All we did is order new spring purches which we will drill off set pins in and weld to the bottom of the axle (flipped).
Once done this afternoon I will post some pictures"

Yeah, I don't want to do the flip kit though. The pics show next to no room for exhaust and I refuse to run a stack, which is what Ryan ended up having to do because of the lack of room there. Rico said his kit was just a new set of hangers and shackles...wonder if it could be retro'd?

Sak, let me know what you have for parts. I've been spoiled with OUO and Cal-tracs aren't my thing
