To each his own though. It's entertaining discussing this stuff. Everyone has different opinions. Do what makes you happy I guess.
Truck styles are much different out west than they are here below the mason dixon.

That is a 35x12.5 on a 20x12...whoever says that will look like janet jackson is a retard. Its just barely cooler than boring. There is no way Id do that again. A 33 and 20 is just right for an older truck..iiiif I re rim this bitch it'll be with 22x12 and a 33x12.5...

Ive had this truck so long ive been through all the bs trends. 16s to 17s to 18x12" welds. Then a 16.5 x14" weld typhoon. Then back to a plain 16x12 al wheel with holes. 6" lift for 15 years and tires from 36 to 40...now on a 35.

I think you missed the pun in my janet jackson lip comment. I wasn't comparing wheels/tires to janet jackson. I also wasn;'t talking about 35's, I was talking about 33's. Everyone has their opinion, no need to get upset.
For the record though, the setup in that picture does look pretty good.
Do you like those Mickey Thompson ATZ's? I have the same set in 37/13.50/18 on my truck.

Im not upset. I realize you said 33s look awful. But with only an inch less sidewall each way the look is by and large unchanged.

My point was 20s and 33s or 35s isnt realy wild or radical. Boring. If I wanted to go outside and look at my truck everyday and go "woooow". Id go for a 22x14(or 12 i guess) and a 33x13.5 or something 12.5 or hair narrower. Granted, I have a pre 05 so its got stupid axles. But its decent enough on stock springs with a 12 wide..

And I'm not downplaying your view on what is wild/radical/boring. That is in fact, your opinion though. I drove a car for years prior to owning my first diesel that had tires stretched on it that I didn't even think possible.. And I loved the look. I've just never been able to wrap my head around the idea of basically having low profile tires on a truck. I don't think stretching tires onto the wheels of a massive truck is beneficial to the purpose or the looks of the truck. Trends vary greatly from coast to coast. But as I previously said, that is nothing but the opinion of one person. Doesn't make your opinion invalid or stupid though.

I agree with you on the stupidity of pre-05 axles. I drive one as well. Also can't stand front leaf springs either.

Also, you should post up some more pictures of your truck. Looks good in that pic, I'm curious about how the 12" looks on <05's. I'm thinking about buying a set of 18x12 this week.

I know this thread was more towards largely stretched tires on wide wheels but I was looking to get some info from the guys running 12.5 on the 12 wide and the like.

How much towing/hauling do y'all do, do you tow max capacity of the truck at all?

In the spring I'm looking at getting some 20x10 centerlines wrapped with 275/65R20 cooper st maxx. Tire equals out to 11.2" wide and the manufacturer only recommends going to 9.5" as widest. I don't think .5" will make that much of a difference but the pessimist inside me is wondering because we haul horses. The last thing I want is the tire to come off the bead while hauling.

Thanks

I find this whole thread quite amusing... I think more bashing, hating and arguing goes on here than about any other thread.

Dude, its not "stretched" in the parlanceof this thread. I jope the suspense isnt killing you because its fairly mundane. Wide but not wild.

In fact ive been doing it for three or four years
