Hes right. But nothing else really does it all that well either. You can get a 7.3 to 5-6 pretty easily and reliably.
Other trucks will readily make more power but they start to become useless. I like the 6.4 but its the failure that everyone says the 6l is. The 6l is the diesel every asshloe that switched from the gasser world to the diesel craze got. No different than the lly dmax being a buzzy pile of fly covered horse crap. The chubby guys just lied, pride intact, about how ***kin junk azz those motors were. Heasgasket blowin pos.
6l is tough as chit though where the lly isnt. I think those allisons sucked until about 2013.
Anyway 7.3 arent a dip your toe in the waters type power maker. But it can happen.
