I dropped GEICO after a friend had a similar incident with his 2500HD. Some drunk in a SUV with GEICO on New Years Eve rammed into my buddy's fab fours front bumper and GEICO refused to cover any of the man's expenses. he was basically out a bumper and grill, had to pay the repair bills himself. they're shady for sure. I went with USAA this go round

Got the truck back today, it's got so many problems I don't know where to begin.

Caliber Collision of Greenville SC and Geico, Heather Hulon.

They refused to inspect the rear end, so with the hit it took there's just no way to know if it'll abandon me on the road somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

They refused to inspect the rear shock that was crushed in the accident.

The GPS is reporting 'no map data' nothing we can do will fix it and Geico is of course refusing to replace or provide a rental while it's gone for 6-8 weeks being 'repaired'.

Caliber scratched the bed and did a 'burn' to blend in the spot, it's pretty visible at least to my eyes that it does not match.

The Cheap chinese bumper they put on there is not oem and the plastic does not fit nicely so there's a huge gap where it comes down.

The magtech cover was damaged and they 'polished' out the damage, so it'll corrode because they took the finish off.

I am deeply disappointed in Geico and Caliber Collision. My beautiful truck which was 11mo from being paid off is a piece of **** now due to their insured not paying attention while speeding.

I have found a replacement for the truck and the dealer is offering me a pretty good deal on it, but I just can't make the numbers.

I've been in contact with my lawyer and he says that SC's laws were written by the ins cos and I'm pretty well screwed up one side and down the other with very little recourse available.
I really don't think, you were going to be happy, even if the repair was 100%.Your truck is a Piece of sh*T?LOL.

I can't wait to see what your new ride looks like. Just keep the faith and you'll be through this in no time. I live in Evansville and our main office is in Louisville and ever since I saw that post about your truck being spotted on 64 I have been looking to see your truck in person everytime I make the trip there.

Keep your head up and make every effort to make it right and it will work out. I would be totally bumbed if something happened to my baby and I'm grieving with you because you put together one bada** truck.

I have USAA for insurance and have been very pleased with them. My truck was azzholed by a careless driver, his and the one behind me were totalled. My truck took must of the momentum. USAA told me to find a body shop I wanted to use, if it was on there list of perferred shops that would be even better. Took it in for an estimate and USAA asked how I wanted to handle this and I told them I want the other insurance company to pay they said OK. Now for my only complaint about USAA they went ahead and sent payment to that bodyshop for repairs. Contacted them again and they cancelled payment apologized for the misunderstanding. That was all over Thankgiving weekend. So I believe you will be very happy with USAA. They were going to fix my truck minus the deductable, then go after the other ins. co and get my deductable plus what every they could. I was told to just keep receipts.

Thought USAA was only for military members...

no anybody who has had someone in their family serve in any branch. my father in law served and recommended myself and the wife. surprisingly they really do care about their customers. a friend of mine just got them. he was literally grand-fathered in somehow thru his grandfather then his mom

And family of military members. If a parent, grandparent, sibling, has served you could be eligible.
I've always wondered about this. My dad retired from the Air Force after 23 yrs. I was always under the assumption that he had to have a policy with USAA in order for me to get one.

We have Tx Farm Bureau which has awesome rates and customer service, but it would be nice to have a back up plan should they get froggy and try to jack up my rates.

I just talked to them. If your father was honorably discharged, he can call and setup a membership with them for free. He needs to 'buy' nothing. From there you can be added as his child and have access to whatever they offer.

I'm going to talk to my father as he was in the Rangers and see if he'll do it.

imo. another vote for USAA. they have treated me super well with all of my issues i've had. my tailgate was stolen and they cut Ford a check no questions asked for all oem parts. even after they went over initial quote. my dad is a 40 year+ member after serving in 'Nam. I will never have another insurance company. And for a 25 year old single male with 2 vehicles with full coverage in NJ i can't complain about the price. My homeowners is through them as well and i've financed a vehicle with them.

Ok, just got my father to spend half an hour setting things up with USAA (don't think that won't cost me.) I spent 2 hours on the phone with them giving them details for home and auto.

We kept all the values as close as possible to what I have now with Cincinnati.

On the '94 toyota they are 30% higher, on my '12 F350 they are 50% higher, on wifey's '97 4runner they were 50% higher, on the RV they were 40% higher and on the home they are 120% higher. They don't write motorcycles which I have two of.

So that's a non-starter.

We have country companies insurance and have had good luck with them. I would suggest to look up and go meet with some agents in person they may be able to help you out better. You have to be a farm bureau member to have Country Companies insurance, but I have a good agent and takes care of us well with vehicles and the farm.
