Hey everyone I am just putting this out there to get some ideas. The truck is my daily driver and I tow 6-7000lbs couple times a year.
currently my up to date set up is
190/75 injectors
mad turbo werks mad max 66mm vgt
bd manifolds mbrp up pipes
reg return fuel kit
banks intercooler kit
cold air and 4"exhaust
dyno d this set up on x race tune and laid down 596hp
I am planning on putting on ported intake too.

I am thinking about swapping (the vgt unit is giving me problems) turbo out for the EFR 8374 with divided up pipes. I just not sure on how it will be on the street for quick spooling and hp. I think it is smaller like 63 mm but the air flow is lbs / min is high!

My buddy had the EFR 9180 (68mm)unit on 225/100 and it runs cooler egts then I do , quick spooling, kinda clean running .

just wondering if anyone else has this unit or has had one?

Don't think many people have tried the efr turbos yet unfortunately. It sounds like it could be a pretty good setup though.

How do you like those bd manifolds? Could you tell any difference from stock? Any sound difference?

My opinion, the 8374 is going to be too small. Its only a 65mm turbine wheel, so yes it would spool fast but I think you'll over spin it and blown it up in no time. The lighter Gamma-Ti turbine wheel/shaft will only support about 115,000 rpms, which isn't much considering an s300 can go to 170,000+.

I run the 9180 on my Duramax but run a wastegated housing and the borg warner shaft speed sensor son I can keep an eye on its speed. Gated at 28-psi it turns about 105,000rpm. Its got about 12,000 miles on it now and flat out rips. Quick spool and tows incredible. But I guarantee if I let the boost go a little higher the shaft will break. I love my EFR but they just don't hold up on diesels very well.

Maybe look into a 64.5fmw/70 S300, that should tow/spool great and still make good power.

They're nice turbos on paper, but it seems everyone who runs them on a diesel has problems with them at some point. I think they just need more caution used when running them and a very proper setup.

I agree with Jdub, look into the FMW series. Pretty tough turbos. Make sure it's upgraded with a 360* thrust bearing though.
