Egr blockoff and removal

Purchased the tuner and cold air intake. Have the exhaust from my old 15. Sales guy at Rudy’s told me I didn’t really need to remove and blockoff the egr that the tuning would deactivate the valves inside and that was suffice. My local shop said he didn’t recommend doing that and that I should block it off and get rid of it completely to be safe.
Can you guys chime in on this? Thanks for the help. I’d gladly buy the plates and coolant reroute kit if it was needed.

i typically leave them in place. No harm done unless you plan to return to stock at any time. The coolers plug with soot over time if the valves get forced open. Again, no issue while the truck is tuned.

That’s what my guys did as they didn’t want to fight the EGR bolts. No issues at all.
