Electric 4x4 into manual 4x4

Is there any way to change the electric 4x4 to a floor shift 4x4? Don't like electric too many things can go wrong. The other day it didn't work then it did. Not sure if the light was the culprit or it just didn't work at all. So to make things hopefully easier I want to switch.

I also want to do this... i was told in the past by a ford diesel tech you need the manual shift case, he told me the electric shift version was different....but i dont know they looked the same to me..

Just get a manual t-case and it is a bolt in job. The hole in the floor is already there and you would need the shifter boot and linkages to it.

Is the hole in the floor have a plastic cover on it which is covered by carpet?

Yes carpet covers it. Its a plate screwed to the floor.
