It it's just a stock appearing rule then u can get away with it. If u can't alter ur turbo wheels then u can't. Around me it's mostly stock appearing

yupp around MI/OH/IN area they say stock appearing. They pop the hood and look at it for stupid obvious **** like NOS, twins, twin pumps ect. There is one pull close to me that claims it has to be a completely stock charger, yet i have a feeling they wouldnt know the difference. I was the first 6.4L they had ever tech'ed in, last summer.

Very interesting thread, I currently have a 71 on mine, and recently cracked a piston so im going to do a rebuild, my biggest concern was how well it works with the stock HP, do drive pressures get out of hand? I have a wastegate setup, just not on the pickup at the moment. Also can you fuel hard enough without injectors to see full potential?

It does very well with the stock hp... That's the set up that I have. I believe that you need nozzles and a hp to see the full potential of the 76 tho.

On the other hand, I believe that the 76 will bring the full potential of stock nozzles out.

No? Lol not tonight
Would a cam help see the full potential too? Or would that be a waste?
I think a cam helps hugely with back pressure and airflow, but I don't know that I'd say that you need it to get the most out of this turbo. That being said, I'll be adding a cam to mine as soon as I get the chance.
Is there an EGT drop with the 76 over the 72

There was a slight drop, yes. Maybe 50* or so.

Okay so, with just a tuned and deleted truck, CAC pipe, studs and egr delete, what kind of havoc would this thing cause on other parts? i.e. tranny, intercooler, stock hpfp, stock nozzles etc.

Based on what we've seen in JD's truck, I'd say no more than a 72 or a 71 would. All in how you treat your ride, IMO.

If is true of what they say with the turbo that you can get 700hp on stock fuel, you will be looking at a tranny before anything, one does not simply stay out of the throttle when they get a new turbo. LOL LOL LOL LOL
