glow plugs are sticking out of the head too far. As far as I can tell its in the machining in the head. Only one of the glow plugs was leaking compression but it was leaking with 3 different plugs I put in there. Not sure if its enough to make it smoke like it is.

And it has the correct glow plugs in it. I know the 03s are longer.

Is there a way to pressure test cracked injector cups?
Possible a hair line crack that only seeps after sustained use and heat soak/expansion?
Throwing darts here......

Can you seal the threads on the glow plug with an anerobic gasket sealer or loctite of some sort?

Waiting on the new heads to get here to see what happens. Protrusion on the current heads are .310 and factory heads are .265.

My machinist had a good theory. The glow plug might be stick far enough down that its interfering with the spray pattern of the injector. If that is the case It would have fuel build up on the glow plug and interfere with the burn of the fuel.

Hey Matt.. I hope when you get done with my brothers truck you can fit me in at some point. You have gone way beyond what would be considered normal customer satisfaction. My truck won't be as a crazy build as his.. Well, that's the plan at the moment..hahahaaa. Just studs and gaskets and new turbo..seals are out in mine and blowing oil through the intercooler.
