External oil cooler setup, LPOP slow to build pressure now got a few questions??

Don't give up just yet bud! I got some good hours in today. I just need to tighten a few loose ends, top off fluids. I'll let you know how my gauge acts. Although I do have a thermostat in my setup, but no check-valve. I am more nervous of whether my truck will even start or not because it's been sitting so long.

Lol well lemme know how it goes for ya!!!

Greg said I shouldn't need a thermostat, it would make sense that it would help though. Let the oil bypass the cooler so it dosent have to fill that up.

Well just to give everyone an update I ended up taking the plate off and going back to the factory setup. I had to have the truck back to DD and wasn't comfortable driving it how it was.
I did check it with a manual gauge and it was the same results as the factory pressure switch.
So for now I'm just running the stock setup, I did route the coolant to the degas bottle return line. The Lpop dosent loose prime anymore and oil psi on startup is back to normal.
If anyone wants the MPD plate lemme know as it's for sale.
