I'm looking at pulling the cab soon. Already have S&B air intake, 4" down pipe and 5" back exhaust with a H&S mini maxx. I'm looking at doing head studs, exhaust manifolds, and up pipes while the cab is off as well as new gaskets. My question is should I do anything else while it's opened up? I figure might as well do what I can now instead of taking it off a bunch.

Mine just rolled over 95k over the weekend. I know I need new belts too though.

Check the heads for cracks and deck them if they check out. I would also pay close attention to the pistons faces/bowls. Look for hairline cracks at the bowl lip. Maybe a new HPFP if funds allow. The mileage is getting up there and it may not hold full rp on big tunes now that the other mods will support the race files.

Bear with me I'm still learning, what do you mean by rp? And what's decking the heads? Realistically I'm hoping to get the 7-800HP range and wouldn't have a problem freshening up the motor if I need to, I'm sure it couldn't hurt. Next year new Trans is on the docket but right now I just don't want to start puking oil lol.

Me and a buddy were actually talking about buying a new motor and building it then just swapping them out. I know everything I've done so far could be put on the new one, along with up pipes and so on.

RP is fuel rail pressure. With a weak high pressure fuel pump you rail pressure will drop on the bigger tunes. Decking the heads is making sure they are dead flat. Send them to a machine shop to true them up.

When are you hoping to be in the 700-800hp range?
