Fan stator? You mean that thing that is taking up space in the shop?

What I've done is remove the electric fan clutch a made a adapter that screws onto the water pump and the other end screws into a hydraulic 1997 ( I believe) 7.3 powerstroke fan clutch which bolts up to the 6.0 fan blades, removed the inner fan shroud and left the electrical connector laying there. The hydraulic fan clutch moves more air than the electric so it's a bit noisy but works great.Ya I am only contemplating removing it bc I broke it and don't want to pony up $320 bucks for a piece of plastic that seems to me to be there just for safety reasons. If I didn't bust it I wouldn't worry about removing it.
EDIT: I just looked up the parts catalog on Fords website and looks like the part I busted is No. 19E672 and can be replaced by itself. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at it - just figured it was attached to the stator as it is behind the rest of the shroud.
