Both are good tuners. I believe IDP has 3 FICM tunes (Mild,Moderate,Race) and I know that PHP has 4 choices (Non-inductive heating mild, Atlas40,Atlas80,Hercules100). I will tell you this, I have run 3 of PHP's FICM tunes and liked the Atlas 80 the best. The Non-inductive (Bill's original tune) was great and picked me up about 12rwhp on the dyno, but winter starts were rough. The Hercules is a monster and delivers a sh*tload of fuel down low providing excellent throttle response and an impressive pull throughout the entore RPM range. It's biggest downfall for me is the inability to pull enough fuel to tow. The Hercules is a hot tune no doubt. Running a stock turbo and my SPD tune, I could exceed 1700* on a good hard run where as the Atlas 80 would be around 100* cooler. Granted, after throwing an MTW turbo back on, installing my AIS water/meth kit and Chris at TSD getting the SPD dialed in to damn near perfection, I'm seeing a little over 1400*. The Atlas 80 was capable of towing well, had great throttle response and still provided exceptional power throughout the entire RPM range.

Bill and I have talked about a sort of "Frankenstein" FICM tune for my truck. He's gonna set it so that throttle position determines what fueling parameters are used. Example, 0-20% throttle would be the Atlas 40 parameters, 20-40% would incorporate the Atlas 80 parameters and 40-100% would be totally unrestrained Hercules fueling.

Brother purchased the remote FICM tuner from ID with the moderate tune on it. Throttle response is noticeably better and it fuels a little harder as well. There's a little stronger haze up top under WOT.

If you are unstudded, PHP recommends not running the hercules tune, IIRC. I run matts SRL tune, and the atlas80 as my DD. i ran matts tunes for a little over a month without the FICM tune, and barely noticed a difference. But when i pull the PHP tune, i notice big time. It did however make the SRL a bit more hazy, and it loads up pretty good on bottom end.

I've had a kem tuned 48v and noticed a difference and a 58v atlas 40 both are comparable but definatelty worth the coin in my book.

I run the PHP Hercules tune for daily driver and love it. It really woke up the bottom end and turbo lag is pretty much non existent.

That Frankenstein tune sounds pretty awesome Mwilbur516 is bill going to just do one for you or is that something anyone could get? . How much rwhp would the hercules tune lay down? I'm still running the Hercules with a Stage 1 MTW and stock injectors. I havn't been a really big fan of this tune due to the heat, but I can't really get rid of it until I'm done testing these turbo's for Adrian. After the last tune that Chris sent me, I like the Hercules a whole lot better. The new SPD I have pairs EXTREMELY nice with the Hercules and the Stage 1. My temps are way down at cruising speed and noticeably lower throughout the entire RPM range. Boost builds quick and the truck is super responsive. I still want to bump my FICM tune to the more custom tune Bill and I talked about, just so I can still tow, but that'll be after I test the Hybrid turbo.

It gets very cold in the winters here average day is like 25* what tune would be the best for me?

Shouldn't matter as long as your FICM is in good shape and you allow your glow plugs to run. Plugging it in also helps. With the size of your truck though, I'd hang withe 80 if you don't tow and the 40 if you do tow anything. JMO

Just buy your own gyphron tuner from power hungry performance, and you will get three tunes. Run the atlas40 or atlas80, so how you like it.

25* isn't that cold.... try living in Kansas where lucky if the high for the day gets to 20 and at night its negative temps

I run the Hercules with my Innovative tow tune.... I was told by Vivian that the Hercules tune doesnt do well with her Looney Wild and Looney Wild Plus that she sent me..... I may have to try it once my truck comes back from paint again
