Maybe he means the the higher rpms are spinning the tranny more than it would normally with 3.73's at cruising speeds. I think 4.10's are a normal gear ratio for hauling though, I wouldn't go any higher than that towing a lot. We have a 2011 F350 dually with 3.73's and I think that's the lowest we could go, not completely sure I can't remember. It pulls loads really well needless to say, I love the truck.
