-6 F here. Had mt truck plugged in for 3hrs before startup. Ran truck at fast idle for 20 minutes then left for work. Making 30psi boost at 10 percent throttle down hill at 50 mph. Reading EBP with DashDaq varies from 13.6-14.2 no increase with boost. No CEL. Is that tube frozen? Truck has been running for over an hour. Had an abnormally deep exhaust note at idle last night as well. Is there a way to test that sensor?

Sounds like it. The sensor sounds good because of the EBP you are seeing, which is atmosphere.
Mine had the same tone at idle, mine was a blown bellow in the EGR pipe, but back pressure would change for me.
I bet it is the tube clogged.
You can clean it out with brake clean and compressed air or just order a new one. Easy to change too. 5/8" end wrench on each end and a 10mm for the little nut at the valve cover.

Mine is doing the same thing only i have no frozen anything in mine. I cleaned it yesterday and it worked great to go to the gas station. This morning same damn thing. Its been like this since sunday. My ebp is reading anywhere from 8-70. Thank god for my 3 hour drive it was reading high so my boost was able to stay low. Any ideas? Happens every year. Sensor junk?

I would say that if you know the tube is clear, you are not getting a CEL and have irratic readings that the sensor is most likely at fault. They are around $90.

Tubes had light condensation and some gooey soot at the base of the tube where it connects to the up pipe. Clear up top at the sensor but tube was cold as ice to the touch on immediate shut down. Picking up the new sensor after work. Im getting codes but its due to the sensor and boost/ebp readings being so far off. Its happened every year since ive owned the truck. Figured there was a way to fix it without a new sensor. Oh well

I had to change mine out yesterday as well because the sensor would not read correctly and would not come below 25psi sometimes and then work fine other times. I got the ebp sensor for $80 and changed it out as well as spraying brake clean thought the tube to get it cleaned up nice. The truck ran fine as soon as the truck was started back up and the load note from the tailpipe was also gone now. Truck is quiter now and running like a champ.

DONT push the stuff into the up pipe as you dont want that goign through your turbos and chittin out the bearings or anything else. Take the tube off the truck and spray out with brake cleaner and then some compressed air to finish it off. Then put a sensor back on it and install on the truck. Makes a good bit of difference to have a good clean reading sensor forsure.

The sensor should be right behind your fuel cooler and turbo pipe. Here is a couple of pictures of where it should be but i had to relocate mine since i did 6.0 manifolds. So where the aluminum bracket mounts to the valve cover is the stock location for the tube and sensor. I think its a 13mm but im not positive. And i think the tube is a 15mm. I hope this helps you out!

Thanks I got it out last night. Let it unthaw overnight installed at 3 this morning in 0 degree weather. Seems be running right. Back pressure is 18 on idle and goes up pretty consistent when I push the throttle.

No that sounds right. You can read desired and absolute or something along those lines and it will read 2 different ways. Do a key on engine off reading. In Michigan its 14.7 due to where im at sea level wise.
